About the artist
Home and belonging are not fixed points, but rather shifting feelings. These themes weave throughout this collection of prints. Each piece is an intersection between what is present and what is absent on the plate, both physcially and metaphorically. The hope is that form gives way to feeling. | While creating each piece, I focused on the idea that no one can truly belong everywhere. At some level, everyone has experienced both belonging and displacement. Each print becomes a vessel to figure out what belonging means, represented by moving horizons, crowds forming and dissolving, and reflections blurring into memory.
About the artwork
Cubes spill from a dark square, tumbling into endless empty space. A person tumbles with them, caught in the chaos, and grabs hold of a cube. The person is trying to survive in the moment between collapse and control.
