About the artist
Working from her little studio in North Wales Francis handprints beautiful drypoints, collagraphs and monotypes inspired by her life-long love of nature. After gaining a degree in Illustration from Kingston University back in 2007 she spent a few years pulling the odd pint, milking the odd (hundred-or-so) cow and then embracing parenthood; she does however still remain passionate about drawing and has finally immersed herself in the wonderful world of original print. Francis is interested in exploring acid-free tone and texture to portray her curious subjects and at present is enjoying investigating the regeneration of beavers in the UK and the biodiverse range of wildlife that this supports, from otters and water voles, to polecats or even kingfishers.
