About the artist
I am a painter and printmaker based in South East London, where I continue to live and work in the neighbourhood I grew up in. My artistic practice is shaped by the rhythms of everyday life, balancing creativity with the responsibilities of raising a family and caring for elderly parents. This lived experience informs my work in both content and process, grounding it in a personal and domestic reality. My work centres on quiet observational moments, figures absorbed in thought, small gestures, and the unspoken dynamics between people.
Lucy Lock is a painter and printmaker based in South East London. Largely self-taught, her practice is intuitive yet deliberate, working across relief and intaglio techniques to explore the subtleties of line, tone and space.Using a restrained palette and finely worked marks, she creates images that feel both intimate and distanced, balancing presence with absence. Lucy%u2019s prints evoke stillness, introspection, and the fragile tension of everyday encounters. Each piece distils the ordinary into something psychologically charged, where meaning sits just beneath the surface.Lucy has exhibited with St Michael%u2019s Art Group (2023%u20132026), Lee Green Open Studios (2024%u20132025), and in the group exhibition Monochrome at Nolia%u2019s Gallery SE1 (2021).
