About the artist

Rhianna Catt is an award-winning printmaker based in Hampshire. Her work celebrates the often-forgotten and overlooked details of the natural world, weaving them with layers of symbolism and quiet reflection. | | Working across a range of printmaking techniques, Rhianna moves between the soft, dreamlike tones of mezzotint and the bold, playful energy of screenprint. Each piece carries a gentle sense of storytelling, inviting the viewer to pause and notice the wonder in the everyday. | | Rhianna%u2019s work has been exhibited across the UK including the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair 2021, the RE International Original Print Exhibition 2022 and RE Small But Mighty Exhibition in 2023, 2024 and in 2025 where she won the St Cuthbert's Mill Award for her Mezzotint Lost and Found. Rhianna Catt graduated from the London College of Communication (UAL) in 2021 with First Class Honours in BA (hons) Illustration and Visual Media. She also works as a Printmaking Technical Tutor at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham.

Rhianna Catt was born in Brighton and moved to London at the age of 17 to become a professional chef. Painting and creating artwork was her escape from the busy and stressful environment of a kitchen. At the age of 21, she decided to study Illustration and Visual Media at the London College of Communication (UAL). Here was where she fell in love with printmaking, in particular intaglio techniques. She is now based in Hampshire, and works as a Technical Tutor in Printmaking at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham alongside making her own work.

About the artwork

In Their Keeping explores the idea around who is looking after who. Are we taking care of this little bird, or are the birds surrounding the frame protecting it instead. This is used as a wider metaphor exploring our own place in our world and environment. The plate has been cut to break the frame and the wings are debossed into the paper.
