About the artwork

The image depicts a small human figure standing on the side of a folio moving into the distance, the pages of which fold in a regular rhythm and gradually disappear into the distance. The perspective is set so that the individual parts of the book converge into a vanishing point on the horizon, creating a strong impression of an endless journey. The individual pages of the folio are also depicted as windows. The contrast between the smallness of a person and the monumentality of the book emphasizes human vulnerability and humility towards time and existence. The folio here does not represent just a book, but rather a symbol of life itself %u2014 each page can mean one stage, experience or decision. What is close is clearly legible and concrete, while the distant pages dissolve into indefiniteness, similar to our future.
