About the artwork

A detailed linocut of the staircase inside Kew Gardens%u2019 Palm House. I was really drawn to the structure of the space, the ornate ironwork, the layers of foliage, and the way the glass roof filters light through the plants. Working out how to carve the roof so it subtly peeks through the leaves was one of my favourite parts of the process. It became a balance of detail and restraint, letting light and shadow do the work.
