Artist statement

I am a Seattle based monotype artist. In my artwork, I explore the interplay between the seen world and the imagined landscapes of the mind. I am drawn to expansive, borderless spaces, and I seek to combine reality and the illusionary in my prints. While exploring landscapes through the use of light, shadow and pattern, I search to connect these inner and outer worlds in my monotypes. My printmaking process involves building up multiple layers of etching ink and running each monotype through the press multiple times. The marks are made with a variety of tools such as rollers, toothpicks, and rags for wiping the plate.
