Artist statement

These prints are from a series of stormy etchings - %u2018Look Up%u2019. Explored here are clouds, light and its effect on our atmosphere. Drawn to the %u2018excitement%u2019 and foreboding of storm clouds%u2014their shifting mass, movement and emotional resonance, Wendy uses acid etching, spit bite and the blackest ink to portray the drama.

Biography

Wendy is a Manchester based graphic designer, artist and printmaker.Her practice is driven by a fascination of natural phenomena; space, storms, skies, dramatic landscape and nature, finding it a constant source of inspiration. Excited by the element of surprise in printmaking, she uses hand made marks, layering and texture with bold colour to graphic effect.Wendy is a member of Hot Bed Press workshop in Salford, and exhibits as part of the print collective - %u2018Under Pressure.%u2019
